A Blend of Heritage & Innovation
Transforming Grade II Listed Barns into a Modern Workspace
Ariat International, a global leader in equestrian footwear and accessories, entrusted us with designing and building their new head office in rural Oxfordshire. The project involved repurposing two Grade II listed barns into a functional yet aesthetically striking workspace. Our goal was to seamlessly integrate the barns’ original features into a contemporary office design that reflects Ariat’s rich equestrian heritage.
Bespoke Design & Craftsmanship
We managed the entire process—from conceptual design and planning to bespoke furniture manufacturing and installation. Every detail was carefully considered to embody Ariat’s brand identity while preserving the character of the historic barns.
A Striking Entrance with Handcrafted Details
The entrance sets the tone with a reclaimed timber-clad wall, featuring the Ariat brand mark hand-hammered from over 1,100 farrier’s nails. Adjacent to this, a statement glass partition showcases a hand-illustrated tribute to Secretariat, one of the most legendary racehorses in history. Created by Cardiff-based artist Bruce Crowes, this artwork integrates Ariat’s mission statement into an inspiring visual centrepiece.
Showroom – A Nod to Equestrian Craftsmanship
The brand showroom is a masterclass in craftsmanship, featuring:
Hand-built furniture crafted from solid oak and steel.
Leather strap detailing and oak sleeper elements, reflecting Ariat’s equestrian roots.
Central meeting tables inspired by Secretariat’s iconic blue and white racing silks.
A 75-inch video conferencing system, housed in a custom-built, hand-finished cabinet.
Innovative Office Spaces with Authentic Character
Upstairs, an eye-catching floating red barn door, framed by floor-to-ceiling glazing, acts as a dramatic focal point. The main office space is designed for both collaboration and privacy, featuring:
