DR. Martens:
Boot Room
A Fusion of Music, Heritage & Retail
Bringing Dr. Martens’ Legacy to Life in Camden
Following the success of their Oxford Street store, Dr. Martens once again partnered with Closed Sundays to create their most impactful retail experience yet—the DM’s Boot Room. Located in Camden, this unique space had to:
Celebrate Dr. Martens' deep-rooted connection to music.
Respect the heritage of the Grade II listed building.
Showcase the brand’s rich history through its archives.
Deliver a cutting-edge, museum-like experience.
Host live music events, offer free drinks, and feature a VR tour of the iconic Cobbs Lane factory.
Bespoke Flight Cases – The Perfect Display Solution
To achieve this, we designed and built custom flight cases—inspired by touring musicians—acting as the foundation of the space. These bespoke displays:
Highlight priceless archive pieces with bold authenticity.
Create a raw, industrial aesthetic that aligns with Dr. Martens’ rebellious spirit.
Anchor the room while allowing a seamless visitor flow.
A Stage for Iconic Live Performances
At the heart of the DM’s Boot Room is the performance space. Designed for both acoustic sets and DJ performances, this stage is built to host a diverse lineup of artists—reinforcing Dr. Martens’ legendary status in music culture.
The Results? A Resounding Success
The impact has been phenomenal—with live music events raising the roof and sales smashing through it. The DM’s Boot Room has become a must-visit destination in Camden, blending retail, heritage, and live music in a way that only Dr. Martens can.
Our Role in the Project
Closed Sundays handled the design, development, manufacturing, and installation, ensuring the space captured Dr. Martens’ essence while delivering an unforgettable brand experience.
